Many workers were digging a pit for an underground tank that was supposed to be used by a factory in Jasalpur village. A rescue operation is going on,” the inspector said.
Additionally, PM Modi announced ₹2 lakh compensation from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the families of the deceased.
“An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Mehsana, Gujarat. Rs. 50,000 would be given to those injured,” PM Modi posted on X.
